If you have spent any time on LinkedIn or Facebook in the past few months, I’d be willing to be that you’ve seen this graphic on Sales Statistics.
The statistics basically tout the virtues of following up with your sales and that most sales people are too lazy to do that.
If you do a little simple math though, you will realize that the statistics are impossible.
The problem with the statistics is that the organization that supposedly produced them doesn’t exist.
That means that the statistics are completely made up and bogus.
It makes for an interesting and compelling visual, but it’s totally fabricated.
Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics
And this is made up to look like the Statistics part, but is really just a bad case of Damn Lies.
Official sounding Statistics are even worse than just being bogus, because with an organization as the source, fewer people are going to bother taking stock to investigate and figure out that they are made up.
