As small business owners, we sometimes get all caught up in the details of what we are doing and running our business, frequently wearing way too many hats and doing to many thing in our business that, we forget to take a step back and enjoy the moment and what is going on.
Awards and Rewards are a great way to be reminded of that fact by someone else. It causes you to take that step back and reflect a bit on what it is that you are doing and why you are doing it.
I was recently notified that The Business Leak Detector received a Best of Littleton Award for 2014. See the Press Release.
It made me feel good about what I am doing and reinforced my efforts to help the small business community.
I’ve got the press release and details on the award below, but this blog post isn’t all about me, it is about rewards and what they do to us psychologically and ways in which you might be able to add them into your business.
Think about awards and rewards in your business.
Do you receive them?
Do you give them out?
To employees for great service? Or a project well done?
How about to your customers?
As a thank you for doing business with you?
For continuing to do business with you?
For referring others?
How about to your vendors?
For great service?
Or going above and beyond on a project?
Are you maybe not using Awards and Rewards to their fullest extent?
How else could you add them into your business?
It doesn’t have to be cash or expensive, and in most cases it is best if it isn’t.
The recognition itself is what you are going after.
Think about your business for a minute and see where you scan add in some Awards that will should your recognition and appreciation for the people in the ecosystem of your small business.
